The Purpose of the law was never to justify. Under the law, your performance determined your status. My relationship with God is not based on performance. It's based on what Jesus did on the cross. The law was temporary for a specific purpose and specific time. The law is written on our hearts. Internal motivation. My relationship with father is dependant on my faith. Just believe. The law could not transform the heart. You will never be good enough to pay your way out of the wages of sin. My performance has nothing to do with establishing or maintaining my relationship with Father. To base your relationship on performance is haughtiness - it places the focus on me. Get you out of the picture. It's not about you. We don't pursue a better performance - we pursue a better relationship.
