Repentance is a way of life. Repentance is an attitude of heart. Purity, no darkness at all. Light comes as a result of fellowship. If you didn't come to God with a repentant heart your relationship is not right. Three parts to repentance: hatred for your depravity, true godly sorrow, and passion to be changed. Saul hated the consequences - not the sin. Hatred for sin is supernatural because our flesh loves it. A lot of people have heard about God but have never encountered Him. Abhorring yourself is necessary for repentance. If you don't hate sin it's because you haven't encountered God. God doesn't accept you until you abhor yourself. When you hate the sin you know you deserve everything you've got coming. We can't repent until we have encountered His holiness.
