Your sin is a betrayal of love and trust. Repentance is a gift from God. We can't manufacture it. It has to come from God. Our part is to be a living sacrifice. Repentance cannot happen until He changes the heart. Repentance comes when you embrace an encounter of the glory and purity of God and see your sin. Weeping, mourning, overcome with grief. You make the choice to surrender and God does the rest. We can't acknowledge the truth without His illumination. Discipline is external motivation because there is not internal motivation to keep them on the straight and narrow. When you come to God with and honest heart you will find Him.
