Paul was willing to depart his own lives. We must have a heart for those that we are discipling. We should not begrudge God's will for our lives. We should live exemplary lives. Walk in the glorious calling of discipleship. Paul let his disciples know trouble coming in advance. We as parents need to anticipate and instruct. It is important to realize that this task is hard and you can't do it. Give instruction on how to walk and please God. Inspire to excel still more. As disciples and Christians we are always reaching to do better. We need to encourage in what they have accomplished. Train them in the way that they should go. Training involves establishing a regiment. Train them to spend time with the Lord every day. Kids look up to and have heroes. We pursue what we perceive to be valuable. If I don't love anything together with Him for his sake, I don't love him enough. Everything in my life should begin and end with God. Its Gods love for us that causes Him to reveal himself to us. Don't just be a lecture, be a pattern. We are called to lecture, but so much more. I need to obtain this heart and then transfer it to my children. We should speak about the word naturally because it is on our heart. What God did to save us is important, but what has he done since then. Communicate that to the children.
